You Can Help
We are asking you to send two emails — one to each of the members of the first committee considering HB987 (oppose) in the House and SB824,SB814,SB812 (oppose) in the Senate. HB987 and SB824 would eliminate all local government control (whether grandfathered or not) and Homeowner Association regulation of vacation rentals. Note: depending on what type of computer you're using determines which button to click below.
Currently House Bill 987 has been referred to the Business & Professions Subcommittee. The Senate Bills 824,814,812 have been referred to the Innovation, Industry, and Technology Committee. None have yet been scheduled for hearing.
Please click the links below (depending on what device you're using) to send an email to each House Subcommittee member and each Senate Committee member. You may change the text supplied with the email as you see fit. Note the text of the emails are written as if you live in an area already effected by vacation rentals. If you are living in a community protected by grandfathered rules or homeowner rules, these bills would remove those protections. Thus changing the text to suit your situation would be appropriate. Adding personal stories of your experience will help make this more powerful. Be sure to add your name and home residence at the bottom. Hint, if you personalize your email to the House, copy the text and it may be used in the second email to the Senate.
